Eye Care Facilities

There are approximately 154 hospitals and 875 clinics around the country run by the VA. 
At these facilities, veterans have the opportunity to receive top-notch care from medical professionals who are continually working to improve the health and well-being of all veterans.

Over the last decade, ophthalmology departments at many VA hospitals have invested in new technology and made improvements to eye clinics -- providing veterans access to some of the most advanced eye care equipment and treatments available. In fact, the VA hospital system has been ranked best-in-class by a number of independent groups, primarily because VA patients are treated throughout their lives. This enables the hospital system to invest in prevention and primary care -- both of which are critical to healthy vision. 

Because eye care is complex and technology-driven, it is important that all veterans receive superior quality eye care. The American Academy of Ophthalmology created this site to help veterans know when and how to find eye care professionals.
