The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is 10 miles from downtown Atlanta.

The Airport Information and Ground Transportation Center, located in the arrivals lobby, provides assistance and information on the transportation options for getting to your hotel.

Airport Limousine Service
All limousine service must be arranged in advance. Be sure to verify that the limousine is licensed to pick up passengers at the airport.  Due to construction at the airport, the temporary location for limousine sedans is South Hourly Parking Deck, 3rd Level; and for stretch limousines is North and South Parking Decks, Lower Levels.

Car Rental
Car rental discounts for attendees have been arranged with Avis and Budget Rent a Car. Make your reservations directly online or by phone, or through ATC online (1.800.458.9383 or 1.858.362.2719). Car rental shuttles are located in the Orange Bus aisle.

Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Thrifty also have registration counters located inside the airport on the first floor within the Atrium.

Shared-Ride Shuttles
The Atlanta Link departs every 10 to 15 minutes to Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead hotels and the GWCC. The fee is $16.50 per person.  To purchase tickets on arrival, go to the Green Bus aisle in the Ground Transportation Information Center. To purchase tickets in advance (and save $2 each way), make reservations online or phone 1.404.524.3400. Atlanta Link shuttles are located outside the Delta Baggage Claim South Terminal, exit doors S-5 and S-6, in the middle island.

Taxis
The set fee between the airport and downtown is $30.00, with a $2.00 charge for each additional person.  Taxicab service is located in the Red Bus aisle.

Train
MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transportation Authority) provides train service from the airport to downtown Atlanta and the GWCC. The one-way fare is $1.75. The MARTA entrance is located at the west entrance of the terminal complex, near other ground transportation services. MARTA trains arrive and depart from the airport every eight minutes. It takes 15 minutes to travel the 10 miles to downtown Atlanta.

Shuttle Bus
Shuttle bus service will be provided for 2008 Joint Meeting attendees between most of the official Joint Meeting hotels and the GWCC during meeting hours from Saturday, Nov. 8 through Tuesday, Nov. 11. There will be limited service on Friday, Nov. 7. The Shuttle Schedule will be printed in the Pocket Guide and Final Program, and will be available to download to your PDA from the Meeting E-Guide. Hotel rates include a seven-dollar fee to partially defray shuttle costs.  View the Shuttle Schedule (PDF 109K).

Parking
The GWCC operates seven parking lots.  The Campus Courtesy Shuttle provides free shuttle service to attendees between all parking lots and the main entrances to the convention center. Download maps and driving directions.

Taxis
Taxis in Atlanta are metered. The rate is $2.50 for the first 1/8 mile and $0.25 for each additional 1/8 mile.

Travel Insurance for International Attendees

If you are attending the 2008 Joint Meeting in Atlanta, your current accident and medical insurance may not cover travel outside your home country.
