Registration and Housing Open for Members
Registration and housing are now open to Academy and AAOE members for this year’s Joint Meeting with the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE). Even though registration is included with your member benefits, you must register if you are planning to attend.
Nonmember registration opens on July 9, so take advantage of this time to purchase tickets to popular courses or secure your preferred hotel.
Atlanta – A World-Class Meeting Desination
What’s new in Atlanta?
- Many popular hotels have been built or refurbished since the Academy was last there. More than 88,000 rooms are available citywide.
- Choose from more than 8,000 restaurants, featuring local Southern dishes and cuisine from around the globe.
- Enjoy attractions like the Georgia Aquarium — largest in the world, with an impressive collection of sea life — and the new World of Coca-Cola, recently rebuilt and expanded.
Atlanta is a vibrant city accessible by nonstop airline service from more than 80 international cities. The meeting will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, which has added 500,000 square feet of meeting space since the last Annual Meeting there.
Subspecialty Day
Registration is also open for Subspecialty Day. Your Subspecialty Day registration fee includes a syllabus for the meeting you are registered for, breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch and access to the Joint Meeting exhibit hall on Saturday, Nov. 8.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, attendees can float between all six meetings.
American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE) Program
The AAOE Program at the Joint Meeting is developed for both administrators and physicians and includes 75 practice management/AAOE instruction courses, 31 lunch roundtables and 20 special events that address the challenges of managing the business side of an ophthalmic practice.
EyeBuild
The Academy’s community service project, EyeBuild, will take place Nov. 6 to 7, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Register for one or both days when you register for the meeting. The cost is $25 per person, per day, and includes shuttle transportation, lunch and supplies.
If you have any questions, e-mail meetings@aao.org.

EyeNet provides the information you need to make the most of your Joint Meeting experience.
We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta this November.
