EyeBuild
Thursday and Friday, Nov. 6 and 7

Last year's inaugural EyeBuild community service project in New Orleans was a great success!

Come to the Joint Meeting early and join the Academy and Habitat for Humanity for our second annual EyeBuild event. For a mere $25 and six hours of your time, you can help give new life to Atlanta families in need.

Unofficial Satellite Symposia
Various company sponsored symposia will be held during the Annual Meeting. The Unofficial Satellite Symposia Locator will be available online; onsite at the Bags and Programs Counters in Lobbies D and I; and in the attendee bags.

Alumni and Related Groups Events
During the Annual Meeting, many medical school alumni and ophthalmology related groups will also meet in Atlanta. A list of these events will be available online after July 23. During the meeting, pick up an updated listing at the Bags and Programs counters, Meeting Information booths or Academy Resource Center. Contact the specific organizations for more information.

Run for Vision
Start and finish at Centennial Olympic Park
Sunday, Nov. 9
Arrive by 6 a.m.; race starts at 6:30 a.m.

Bausch & Lomb and the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) will again host this annual 5K benefit run/walk.

Celebrating its 23rd year, this long-standing event draws hundreds of participants. The $50 registration fee is tax deductible as a charitable contribution and benefits the EBAA, the nation's oldest national transplant association. All participants receive a race T-shirt and a commemorative photograph of their participation.

Register online now. Registration closes on Nov. 5. If you miss your chance to register in advance, you can register at the Bausch & Lomb booth (#2212) on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Registration will not be available on race day.

Young Ophthalmologist (YO) Program

Professional Choices Job Fair

Are you an ophthalmologist looking for a job? The sixth annual Professional Choices Job Fair gives you the opportunity to meet the highest possible number of potential employers in the shortest amount of time. The Job Fair is a low-pressure environment that allows job seekers to meet and mingle with representatives from hiring practices from all over the country.

Job Seekers: The fair is FREE! Use event code SPE23A to register.

Young Ophthalmologist (YO) Reception

Join us at the YO Reception to meet your fellow Young Ophthalmologists. Compare and share experiences of practicing in competitive markets and meet Academy leadership. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. Reception is FREE.

The Fifth Annual Orbital Gala
The Georgia Aquarium
Sunday, Nov. 9
Private exhibit viewing at 5:00 p.m.
Reception and silent auction at 6:00 p.m.

Enjoy drinks, dinner and dancing at the Academy Foundation's Fifth Annual Orbital Gala.

This year's Gala will be held at the world famous Georgia Aquarium. Bid in the silent auction, reconnect with friends and dance in the aquarium's ballroom, overlooking beluga whales and whale sharks.

Tickets are available to Academy members and their guests on a first-come basis for $300 each until Friday, October 31; if available, any remaining tickets may be purchased onsite.
