LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, the participant will:

  • Be able to identify which measures qualify for 2010 and why.
  • Be able to determine successful PQRI reporting techniques for those who have received an incentive bonus. 
  • Have a working knowledge of the updates for reporting E-Prescribing in 2010.

COURSE CURRICULUM

Topics include:

  • Identification and detail of ophthalmology PQRI and E-Precribing qualifying measures for 2010.
  • Correct application of PQRI modifiers.
  • Recognize key steps in claims submission to assure PQRI information has been submitted correctly and received by the payer.
  • Making the most of understanding the PQRI report.
  • Responses to frequently asked questions regarding PQRI and E-Prescribing 

During this Webinar, participants will listen to streaming video via computer speakers and can text chat questions. There will be no ability to call-in questions.

FACULTY

Sue Vicchrilli, COT, OCS Sue's 28 year ophthalmic background includes all aspects of coding, reimbursement, practice management, clinic and surgical assistance. Sue is the Academy's coding executive, the author of EyeNet's “Savvy Coder”, AAOE's Coding Bulletin, the Ophthalmic Coding Coach, Code This Case and the Ophthalmic Coding Module Series.

Kim Ross, OCS, CPC is the Academy's coding specialist, the contributing author of the Ophthalmic Coding Coach and the Ophthalmic Coding Module Series. Kim’s 34 year ophthalmic background includes all aspects of clinic and surgical assistance, ophthalmic photography, practice management, coding, reimbursement and compliance.

Koryn Rubin Ms. Rubin is Manager of Health Policy in the AAO’s Washington, DC office.  She manages all activities dealing with physician accountability and quality, such as PQRI, EHR and E-Prescribing. She is the Academy’s liaison for third-party payer issues and advocates on behalf of the Academy to CMS and other Federal regulatory agencies.  Koryn maintains proactive relationships with the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, and other medical advocacy groups.
